Ajinkya Rahane hit an unusual six in the ongoing IPL 2026 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. Facing Avesh Khan in the ninth over, Rahane attempted a cut shot on a short and wide delivery. He lost control of his bat during the stroke. The bat flew behind the square on the leg side. The ball, however, traveled behind the square on the offside and cleared the boundary for six.

Avesh Khan reacted in surprise after the shot. Meanwhile, Rahane continued his aggressive approach against pace. Another six followed in the over, with Raghuvanshi playing a pick-up shot.

Shortly after, Ajinkya Rahane lost his wicket. Digvesh Rathi struck as Mohammed Shami completed a sharp catch at short midwicket. Rahane scored 41.
In the match, Lucknow made early gains in the power play. Prince Yadav dismissed Finn Allen in the second over. KKR still managed 56/1 after 6 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi boosted the scoring with 1 six and 2 fours in the final powerplay over.
At the time of writing, KKR stands at 138/4 after being put to bat first.
