Earlier, Ayush Mhatre’s decision to continue batting despite visible discomfort had raised concerns. Former India spinner R Ashwin questioned the handling of the situation. He pointed out that Mhatre had already shown signs of injury in earlier matches and did not field during the game.
While speaking on his YouTube Channel, Ashwin suggested better caution during such situations, especially when a player struggles to move freely.
Chennai, with 2 wins from 6 matches, will face Mumbai Indians next on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium.
