The Pakistan Cricket Board may take legal action against Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani after he withdrew from his PSL contract with Islamabad United to join Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2026.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is considering legal action against Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani. The move follows his withdrawal from Islamabad United ahead of PSL 2026. Muzarabani chose to join the Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming IPL season.
PCB officials view the decision as a breach of contract. The board is now exploring possible disciplinary measures. This marks the second similar incident in 2 years. In 2025, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch left Peshawar Zalmi after receiving an IPL replacement deal with the Mumbai Indians. The PSL later handed Bosch a 1-year ban for breaking his agreement.
PCB may impose stricter penalties in the Muzarabani case. The Zimbabwe pacer earlier featured in 3 PSL seasons and claimed 21 wickets. Despite joining IPL squads before, he has not yet played a match in the league. He was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru during their 2025 title-winning campaign.

Meanwhile, the Kolkata side will begin the new season on March 29. They face the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Muzarabani could play a key role in KKR’s bowling attack this season. The team currently faces uncertainty over the fitness of Harshit Rana and Matheesha Pathirana. Both fast bowlers continue to recover from injuries.
