The deadly storm struck several parts of Uttar Pradesh on May 13, 2026, bringing heavy rain, hailstorms and strong winds. The disaster caused widespread destruction across multiple districts, with houses collapsing, trees getting uprooted and lightning strikes affecting several areas.

According to recent reports, the death toll has crossed 117, while many others suffered injuries during the extreme weather event. Rescue teams and local authorities immediately launched relief operations in the affected regions.

Lucknow Super Giants enters their match against Chennai Super Kings with their playoff hopes already over. Chennai Super Kings, meanwhile, revived their campaign after losing 3 consecutive matches earlier in the tournament. The five-time champions bounced back strongly and remained firmly in contention for a playoff spot heading into Friday’s match at the Ekana Stadium. A win against LSG could keep CSK alive in the race for the top four positions.
