Ex-India Pacer Names All-Time CSK XI, Shivam Dube Not Included

Former India pacer Mohit Sharma has revealed his all-time Chennai Super Kings(CSK) XI, featuring Michael Hussey, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis.

Shivam Dube missed a place in a former India pacer’s all-time CSK XI. The 32-year-old has won 2 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup titles with India. Since joining CSK in the IPL 2022 mega auction, he has played 55 matches. Dube has scored 1460 runs for the five-time IPL champions.

Despite these numbers, Mohit Sharma left him out of his all-time CSK team during a Cricbuzz show. Dube currently ranks ninth among CSK’s highest run-scorers in IPL history.

Mohit also excluded Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana from the lineup. Instead, he selected several former CSK stars. The list included Michael Hussey, Faf du Plessis and Albie Morkel. Hussey and Morkel played key roles in CSK’s early IPL success. Du Plessis later helped the franchise win the IPL 2021 title.

“My first player is (Michael) Hussey. He has played for CSK for a long time and has scored a lot of runs. With Hussey is Ruturaj Gaikwad. It’s fun to watch how he bats. After Ruturaj Gaikwad, there is an experienced player, Faf du Plessis. He has scored a lot of runs for CSK as well. You can’t take him out of the all-time CSK 11,” Mohit said.

“After him (Faf) is Mr Consistent – Suresh Raina. No. 4. He has done so much in IPL cricket that he has been named Mr IPL. According to me, there is one more player who has done a lot for CSK – Ambati Rayudu. Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) will lead this team. After him is Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja). You can’t miss Jaddu‘s name,” he said.
