WATCH | Ian Bishop Says Sorry as Chepauk Crowd Noise Delays CSK vs PBKS Toss

Ian Bishop apologised during the CSK vs PBKS IPL 2026 toss as the loud Chepauk crowd made it hard hear.

Match 7 of the IPL 2026 saw Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer win the toss and choose to bowl at MA Chidambaram Stadium. CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad received a loud reception from the Chepauk crowd during the toss ceremony.

The Chepauk crowd’s noise grew so loud that broadcaster Ian Bishop struggled to hear Gaikwad speak. Bishop stepped closer to Gaikwad, moving out of the camera frame. Ian Bishop then apologised to both the cameraperson and the CSK captain for the delay. Both Gaikwad and Bishop laughed off the situation.

“I don’t know. I don’t know how long. Let me come closer. I apologise to the cameras. I’m sorry this is dragging on because of the noise and the cheering. I am sorry for not being able to hear you and for dragging this on,” Bishop said.
