Karnataka Government Approves IPL 2026 Matches At Chinnaswamy Stadium

Karnataka government approved KSCA and RCB to host IPL 2026 matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru after a meeting with the Expert Committee.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association and Royal Challengers Bengaluru received permission to stage matches of the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2026 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Government of Karnataka confirmed the decision on Monday, March 16.

The approval followed a review meeting led by Home Minister G. Parameshwar. Officials from KSCA, RCB and event partner DNA attended the discussion. An expert committee assessed security plans and operational arrangements at the stadium. The panel submitted its report during the meeting.

Authorities examined the recommendations before granting the final clearance. The decision allows Bengaluru to host IPL 2026 fixtures at the venue. KSCA officials welcomed the move and thanked the state leadership for supporting preparations for the tournament.

“During the meeting, the Expert Committee presented its report outlining the preparedness and compliance measures undertaken at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Based on the recommendations of the Expert Committee and after reviewing the arrangements in detail, the Hon’ble Home Minister has formally accorded approval for the conduct of the upcoming IPL matches at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru,” KSCA’s official spokesperson Vinay Mruthyunjaya informed in a statement

“The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) places on record its sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Home Minister, Dr. G. Parameshwar, for his leadership, guidance and support in facilitating this approval,” he added.

RCB will play 5 of 7 home matches in Bengaluru, while 2 fixtures will take place at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium.
