The first phase schedule for IPL 2026 has been announced, with the tournament starting on March 28 as Royal Challengers Bengaluru face Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The opening match starts at 3:30 PM and is expected to attract a huge crowd.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India plans to release the schedule in phases. Officials delayed the announcement due to assembly elections in 4 states. These states include Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The first phase covers the opening 20 days of the tournament. Mumbai Indians will play Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29 at 7:30 PM in Mumbai. Rajasthan Royals meet Chennai Super Kings on March 30 in Guwahati. Punjab Kings will face the Gujarat Titans on March 31 in Mullanpur.
