IPL 2026 | RR Through To The Playoffs As Jofra Archer Heroics Flattens MI At Wankhede

Rajasthan Royals booked their IPL 2026 playoff spot with a dominant 30-run victory over Mumbai Indians as Jofra Archer, Dhruv Jurel, and Suryakumar Yadav starred in a high-scoring Wankhede clash.

Rajasthan Royals sealed their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs with a commanding 30-run victory over Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. In a high-pressure clash carrying massive playoff implications, RR produced a complete performance with both bat and ball to finish on 16 points and confirm qualification for the knockout stage.

Asked to bat first after Hardik Pandya won the toss, Rajasthan Royals posted an imposing 205/8 in their 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal provided a quick start with 27 off 17 balls, smashing three sixes before falling to Will Jacks. However, RR suffered early setbacks as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and captain Riyan Parag departed cheaply inside the powerplay.

Dhruv Jurel then steadied the innings with a composed 38 off 26 deliveries. Dasun Shanaka injected momentum through a fiery 29 off just 15 balls before a disastrous run out cut short his innings. Donovan Ferreira chipped in with 18, but the biggest impact came from Jofra Archer, who stunned MI with a brutal 32 off 15 balls at a strike rate above 200.

Suryakumar Yadav fought hard with a brilliant 60 off 42 balls, while Will Jacks contributed 33 from 18 deliveries to keep Mumbai alive in the contest. Hardik Pandya launched a late counterattack with 34 off 15 balls, but RR kept striking at regular intervals.

Jofra Archer starred with the ball, finishing with superb figures of 3/17 in four overs. Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma claimed two wickets each, while Yash Raj Punja also chipped in with two crucial scalps. Mumbai Indians eventually finished on 175/9, falling 30 runs short of the target.
