IPL faced a setback in Bangladesh as JioStar terminated its broadcast deal with TSports over a payment dispute, leaving IPL 2026 telecast uncertain in the country.
JioStar ended its IPL broadcast agreement in Bangladesh after a payment default by its partner. The decision affects the 2023–2027 media rights cycle. The move came during a review of the IPL broadcast ban in Bangladesh.
Tensions between the two countries had earlier impacted cricket ties. A directive from the BCCI led to Mustafizur Rahman’s removal from the IPL squad in January. Bangladesh also missed the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup during this period.
Officials later indicated a possible review of the broadcast restriction. However, the lack of a local partner created uncertainty. IPL matches may not be shown on television this season. JioStar confirmed the termination on February 17 in a communication to TSports. The company also ended its Women’s Premier League deal on the same date. Both decisions cited payment issues as the reason.

“The agreement stands terminated with immediate effect,” JioStar said in a letter dated February 17 to Bangladesh broadcaster TSports, accessed by Reuters.
Notably, the IPL remains highly popular among cricket fans in Bangladesh, and cricket continues to attract strong viewership across the country.
