IPL 2026: Khaleel Ahmed Ruled Out With Quadricep Injury, Major Blow for CSK

CSK pacer Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled out of IPL 2026 with quadricep injury, which is expected to take over 12 weeks to recover.

Chennai Super Kings will suffer a setback as pacer Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled IPL 2026 with a right quadricep injury. The franchise confirmed he will need more than 12 weeks to recover.

Khaleel picked up the injury against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14 in Chennai and walked off after bowling five balls of his final over. Gurjapneet Singh completed that over.

Notably, Khaleel Ahmed’s injury has added to Chennai Super Kings’ growing concerns in IPL 2026. The team already misses MS Dhoni and Nathan Ellis. Dhoni continues recovery from a calf injury and has trained for over 2 weeks but only faced throwdowns so far. Ellis remains out for the season, while Spencer Johnson has not yet joined the squad due to injury.

CSK is now forced to look at domestic options. Mukesh Choudhary offers a left-arm like-for-like replacement, while Ramakrishna Ghosh provides a right-arm pace option with batting ability.

In the tournament, CSK have 2 wins from 5 matches and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad next in Hyderabad on Saturday, April 18th.
