Mohammed Kaif Backs Blessing Muzarabani To Become A Potential Star In IPL

Mohammed Kaif Backs Blessing Muzarabani To Star In IPL

Mohammed Kaif praised Zimbabwe’s T20 World Cup wins and said Blessing Muzarabani could have earned at least Rs 20 crore in the IPL auction.

Former India cricketer Mohammed Kaif has praised Zimbabwe for their stunning victories over Australia and Sri Lanka at the T20 World Cup 2026. He also said that fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has a bright future in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and could attract a massive bid in upcoming auctions.

Zimbabwe shocked Australia and Sri Lanka in the group stage to qualify for the Super 8. Muzarabani played a key role in both wins. He returned figures of 4/17 against Australia and dismissed important batters such as Josh Inglis and Tim David.

Kaif pointed out that the IPL 2026 auction took place in December, before the T20 World Cup, which meant Muzarabani missed out on a potential big payday.

“It is not an easy thing to defeat Australia and then Sri Lanka was a sellout one as well. So, to play in front of that home ground, and on a slow pitch, where Pakistan struggled to chase 176, Zimbabwe chased down 179,” Kaif said while speaking on his YouTube channel.

He praised the Zimbabwe pacer’s skills and versatility across different phases of the game. “Blessing Muzarabani is an exceptional bowler. He will be targeted by IPL franchises in the future. He bowls in every phase of the game, with the new ball and the old,” Kaif added.

Kaif Backs Muzarabani For 20Cr IPL Buy

Kaif went a step further and claimed that if the IPL auction had been held after the World Cup, Muzarabani would have earned a huge amount.

“If the IPL Auction was held after the World Cup, and the way Muzarabani is bowling now, I can tell you with guarantee that he would have fetched at least 20 crores in the IPL Auction,” Kaif said.

The former India batter also compared Muzarabani with leading Australian pacers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. He suggested that the Zimbabwean could be more effective in the IPL.

“We have seen these Australian and New Zealand bowlers for a long time now, earning a lot of money. What has Starc done? Sure, he won those 2 important games for KKR,” Kaif said.

“Remove those 2 matches, and check the other matches. He has been hit for runs in those. Whenever he has played for Delhi, he has been hit for a lot of runs. Muzarabani could do a better job than Starc,” Kaif added.

Zimbabwe’s strong performances have made them one of the surprise packages of the tournament. Muzarabani’s pace and control have stood out, and his recent displays have likely caught the attention of IPL teams ahead of the next auction.
