Mohammed Shami on DC and LSG Radar Ahead of IPL 2026 Auction | Reports

Mohammed Shami has become a top trade target for Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, with Sunrisers Hyderabad now deciding whether to trade him for cash or release him into the IPL 2026 auction.

Mohammed Shami’s season with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 fell below expectations, as he managed only six wickets in nine matches after joining the franchise for INR 10 crore. His return from injury affected his game, but teams remain aware of his proven match-winning ability.

With IPL 2026 approaching, Mohammed Shami has reportedly drawn strong interest from Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, making him a major trade option for next season. According to Cricbuzz reports, Sunrisers Hyderabad are now evaluating whether to accept an all-cash trade offer or place him back in the auction pool, where he is expected to attract significant bids.

Mohammed Shami remains one of the IPL’s most reliable fast bowlers, with 48 wickets in 33 matches for Gujarat Titans across the 2022 and 2023 seasons. His standout year came in IPL 2023, when he won the Purple Cap with 28 wickets at an average of 18.64.

With Delhi Capitals seeking stability in their pace attack after inconsistent seasons from Mukesh Kumar and Dushmantha Chameera, Shami’s addition would significantly strengthen their lineup alongside Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Vipraj Nigam.

Lucknow Super Giants also require an experienced Indian fast bowler after their young attack struggled last season. They moved Shardul Thakur to Mumbai Indians and now aim to reinforce their pace unit.
