MS Dhoni Honours Samson, Dube and Mhatre at Chepauk Ahead of IPL 2026

Ahead of IPL 2026, MS Dhoni felicitated Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Ayush Mhatre at Chepauk after India’s 96-run T20 World Cup final win.

Chennai Super Kings organised a pre-season fan event, ROAR 2026, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. The franchise honoured 3 World Cup winners in the squad. Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Ayush Mhatre received mementos from MS Dhoni.

CSK shared images from the ceremony on social media. The recognition followed India’s recent T20 World Cup win in Ahmedabad. The team defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final and became the first side to defend the title in tournament history.

Sanju Samson played a key role in the campaign. He scored 89 in the final and led India to the 2026 title. His performances earned him the Player of the Tournament award. Shivam Dube’s middle-order contributions were crucial.

Ayush Mhatre also made headlines in February 2026. He led India to its sixth U19 World Cup title. He scored a key half-century in the final against England.

Chennai will start IPL 2026 against the Rajasthan Royals on March 30 in Guwahati. They face the Punjab Kings on April 3. Matches against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals follow on April 5 and April 11.
