Praful Hinge announced himself in IPL 2026 with a historic spell in his debut on Monday. The 24-year-old Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer, playing his first IPL match against Rajasthan Royals, became the first player to take 3 wickets in his debut over.
He came in for Jaydev Unadkat and struck inside 5 balls, dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius to seal a historic start. In the first over, he dismissed Sooryavanshi for 0 off 1, caught by Salil Arora, leaving RR at 1/1 chasing 217.

Later in the same over, he bowled Dhruv Jurel for 0 off 2, reducing RR to 1/2. On the final ball of the first over, Hinge removed Lhuan-dre Pretorius, caught by Nitish Kumar Reddy, as RR slipped to 1/3.

Praful Hinge came through domestic cricket as a reliable right-arm medium-fast bowler from Vidarbha. Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him for Rs 30 lakh at the IPL 2026 mini-auction.
He impressed in red-ball cricket, taking 27 wickets in 10 first-class matches, including one four-wicket haul. In the latest Ranji Trophy season, he picked up 16 wickets in 6 matches and finished among Vidarbha’s top performers. Hinge also contributed to Vidarbha’s maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy title, claiming 5 wickets in 5 matches at an economy rate of 6.06 in the 2025–26 season.
Notably, in T20 cricket, he has limited exposure but showed control in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, conceding 23 runs in 4 overs and dismissing Ricky Bhui.
