RCB confirmed pacer Yash Dayal will miss IPL 2026 due to personal reasons, ending speculation over his absence from training and team activities.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru will miss fast bowler Yash Dayal for IPL 2026, starting March 28. Team director Mo Bobat confirmed the development. He stated that Dayal is dealing with a personal situation and that the franchise will back the player during this period.
“He’s(Dayal) going through a personal situation. He remains under contract,” Bobat was quoted as saying.
Yash Dayal’s absence from training sessions had raised early questions. He also did not feature on the team bus poster, evoking doubts among fans. The team has now clarified his unavailability before the season.

Notably, the pacer has faced legal issues since July 2025. A case was filed in Ghaziabad over alleged exploitation. Another case followed in Jaipur under the POCSO Act. Reports also mentioned the denial of anticipatory bail earlier.
With this development, RCB will need to adjust their bowling combination before their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28.
