Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won over Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 4 wickets in IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens on April 19. Rajasthan opted to bat first but managed only 155/9 in 20 overs.
RR started strongly with an 81-run opening stand. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 46 off 28 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal made 39. The innings slowed after spin came into play. Varun Chakravarthy removed Sooryavanshi and finished with 3/14 in 4 overs. Sunil Narine picked 2/26. Rajasthan slipped to 124/5 by the 16th over. Kartik Tyagi then took 3/22, including 3 wickets for 2 runs in the 19th over, restricting RR to I55.
Chasing 156, KKR faced immediate pressure after losing Tim Seifert and Ajinkya Rahane for 0, slipping to 5/2 early. Cameron Green counter-attacked with 27 off 13 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six. However, his dismissal triggered another wobble. Angkrish Raghuvanshi managed 10 as KKR struggled to build partnerships and hovered around 70/5.
