Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pulled off a stunning chase to beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare in IPL 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium on April 29.
Mumbai Indians chose to bat first and posted a massive total of 243/5 in 20 overs. Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton gave a flying start with a 93-run stand in 43 balls. Rickelton dominated the innings, scoring an unbeaten 123 off 55 balls, hitting 10 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 223.64. Jacks added 46 off 22, while Hardik Pandya chipped in with 31 off 15. Naman Dhir scored 22 off 17, Suryakumar Yadav made 5 off 5, and Tilak Varma added 7 off 5.

Sunrisers Hyderabad answered with an even stronger effort, finishing at 249/4 in 18.4 overs. Travis Head smashed 76 off 30 with 8 sixes, sharing a 129-run opening stand with Abhishek Sharma, who made 45 off 24. Heinrich Klaasen stayed unbeaten on 65 off 30, striking at 216.67. Salil Arora provided a late burst with 30 not out off 10 at a strike rate of 300.00. Nithish Reddy contributed 21 off 17.
Mumbai’s bowlers struggled throughout. Jasprit Bumrah conceded 54 in 4 overs, while Trent Boult gave away 41. Hardik Pandya leaked 39 in 3.4 overs. SRH comfortably completed the chase, sealing a 6-wicket win.
