Chennai Super Kings honour Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden as their first Hall of Fame inductees ahead of IPL 2026, celebrating their legacy in the franchise.
Taking a page out of global cricket traditions, Chennai Super Kings have officially introduced their own Hall of Fame, honouring two of the franchise’s most influential figures. Known for their strong culture of loyalty, trust, and legacy, values shaped under the leadership of MS Dhoni—CSK have chosen Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden as their inaugural inductees.
The announcement, made ahead of IPL 2026, celebrates the duo’s immense contribution to the franchise as well as their overall impact on the game while donning the iconic yellow jersey.
The Hall of Fame in Cricket
The Hall of Fame represents one of the highest honours in cricket, reserved for players who have made a lasting impact on the sport. Established in 2009, this recognition highlights exceptional on-field performances and long-term influence.

Typically, players become eligible only after completing five years of retirement from international cricket. Both Raina and Hayden comfortably meet this criterion, making them fitting choices as the first members of CSK’s exclusive list.
Raina and Hayden’s Legacy in Yellow
Raina’s association with CSK dates back to the inaugural IPL season, where he quickly became a cornerstone of the team alongside Dhoni. Over his career, he amassed 5,528 runs in 205 matches at an average of 32.51, including one century and 39 half-centuries, numbers that underline his consistency and importance to the side.
Hayden, although featuring in only three seasons (2008–2010), left a strong impression with his aggressive batting. The former Australian opener scored 1,107 runs in 32 matches at an average of 36.90, registering eight half-centuries during his stint.
