IPL 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Targets Trophy With Rajasthan Royals

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi said his goal is to help Rajasthan Royals win the IPL 2026 title during the BCCI Naman Awards event.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi attended the BCCI Naman Awards 2026 in Mumbai on Sunday. The 15-year-old celebrated recent success with India’s youth team. He played a decisive role in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026 final. Vaibhav smashed 175 runs from 80 balls against England Under-19 cricket team. His innings included 15 fours and 15 sixes. The team, led by Ayush Mhatre, won the title.

Rajasthan Royals had signed him for the Indian Premier League at age 13 for INR 1.1 crore. The franchise began scouting him at age 11. Vaibhav later joined the franchise camp and gained early exposure to professional cricket.

“When I made my domestic debut, RR had been keeping an eye on me during my domestic and Under-19 games. Their scouting team had been keeping an eye on me for a long time. I felt that I could go to RR because my trial with them had gone very well. I am happy to be with RR, as I have improved a lot too in my life while playing for RR,” he shared.

“For any youngster, the first IPL camp is always intersting and it was the same for me too. Rahul (Dravid) sir was there at that time, so I got to learn a lot from him. There were a lot of senior players in the team, and I had a good learning experience from them during the first camp as well as the first IPL,” Vaibhav added.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also said his main target for the IPL 2026 season was to help Rajasthan Royals win the title.

“The goal this IPL season is to win the trophy for the team, as it is a very important thing. I want to do well, and my performance will help the whole team. This is my goal – to contribute to RR’s wins and win the trophy for the franchise,” he concluded.

Rajasthan begins IPL 2026 on March 30 against the Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati.
