Ravichandran Ashwin hilariously mocked Virat Kohli’s over-the-top wicket celebrations after RCB’s dominant 92-run win over Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026 Qualifier 1.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru stormed into their second straight IPL final after crushing Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Qualifier 1 at Dharamsala. While Rajat Patidar’s explosive unbeaten 93 off 33 balls headlined the contest, Virat Kohli’s fiery on-field celebrations also became one of the biggest talking points of the night.

Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin could not hold back his amusement while reacting to Kohli’s animated celebrations after every Gujarat Titans wicket. Kohli was constantly seen pumping his fists, roaring in celebration, and charging around the field as RCB dismantled GT’s batting lineup during the chase of 255.

GT collapsed under pressure and lost five wickets inside the powerplay before eventually getting bowled out for 162. Jacob Duffy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rasikh Salam, Josh Hazlewood, and Krunal Pandya shared the wickets as Bengaluru completely dominated the knockout clash.

Ashwin’s Hilarious Take On Kohli’s Celebrations

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ashwin jokingly claimed Kohli celebrated every dismissal as though he himself had taken the wicket.

“Did you see Virat’s celebrations when the first four wickets fell? Pehle 4 wicket usne hi liya hai (It seemed like he had taken those four wickets). From where do you get this kind of intensity?”

Ashwin further continued his hilarious praise of Kohli’s unmatched energy and passion on the field.

“Har jo wicket hai, tera wicket jaisa kaise celebrate kar raha hai yaar? (How can you celebrate every wicket like it’s your wicket?) I enjoyed it a lot. Woh insaan nahi hai [He isn’t human],”

The former India spinner then added another remarkable statement while describing Kohli’s intensity during the game.

“He is something else. He has come from some other planet. I don’t know where he has come from; he is not human,”

Kohli himself contributed strongly with the bat earlier in the innings, smashing 43 runs off just 25 deliveries. He stitched together a rapid 72-run stand alongside Devdutt Padikkal before Jason Holder removed both set batters in quick succession.

Patidar And Krunal Turn Match Completely In RCB’s Favour

After Kohli’s dismissal, Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya launched a brutal counterattack that completely shifted the momentum. The duo added 95 runs in just 47 balls, punishing Gujarat Titans’ bowlers all around the park.

Patidar remained unbeaten on 93 from only 33 balls, hammering five fours and nine sixes at a breathtaking strike rate of 281.81. His knock powered RCB to 254/5, the highest total ever recorded in IPL playoff history.

Gujarat Titans never recovered from their disastrous start during the chase despite Rahul Tewatia’s fighting 68 off 43 balls. RCB eventually wrapped up a dominant victory to seal their place in yet another IPL final.
