Rohit Sharma scored 15 off 13 balls before falling early, while Ryan Rickelton managed only 6 from 7 deliveries. Naman Dhir departed for a 3-ball duck, leaving MI under immediate pressure. Suryakumar Yadav briefly counterattacked with 15 off just 6 balls at a strike rate of 250, including 2 fours and 1 six, before Saurabh Dubey dismissed him. Tilak Varma struggled for rhythm and scored 20 off 32 balls before Kartik Tyagi removed him in the 14th over.

With the lower order yet to come and the Eden Gardens crowd in full voice, MI will need something extraordinary in the final six overs to post a total worth defending.
