Sanju Samson bashed Hardik Pandya for 18 runs in an over inside the MI vs CSK powerplay.
The MI vs CSK clash has been a tempting affair for cricket fans over the years. However, the El Clasico on April 23 took a serious turn when Sanju Samson bashed Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya for 18 runs in an over.
Samson took on Pandya, hitting three boundaries and one six in the fourth over inside the powerplay, leaving the MI skipper stunned. As Hardik Pandya came on to bowl to Samson, the first two deliveries were dots, with Samson looking to block them.
However, from the third ball onwards, Samson started attacking the skipper. The third ball of the over went for a boundary as Samson put a poorly lined delivery from Pandya to the fence. The next delivery cleared the ropes as a good-length ball on middle stump angled into Samson’s pads.
Samson hung back to flick it over deep backward square leg for a massive six. The next delivery was another boundary, with Samson steering a back-of-length delivery with the outside edge of the bat towards short third man.
To stop the ball, Bumrah, who was stationed there, tried his best, but it still raced to the fence. The next delivery was a wide, and the final ball was yet another boundary from Samson that raced between backward point and short third.
Hardik conceded 19 runs in that over as Samson scored 18 off him. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah too, took a solid beating from Samson as he hooked the bowler for a massive six in the very next over.
