Shubman Gill gives an angry reaction to Shivam Dube after pulling off a solid catch in the GT vs CSK match.
Shubman Gill turned the momentum firmly in Gujarat Titans’ favour with a breathtaking catch to dismiss Shivam Dube during the IPL 2026 clash against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In a high-scoring encounter where CSK were desperately trying to stay alive in the chase of 230, Gill’s moment of brilliance completely shifted the energy of the contest.
The dismissal came in the 10.3 over when Rashid Khan bowled a googly outside off stump at 89.3 kph. Dube, who was batting aggressively and had already smashed 47 runs off just 17 balls with four fours and four sixes, attempted another powerful stroke. However, the left-hander mistimed the shot badly, slicing it high towards extra cover.

Gill sprinted backwards from inside the 30-yard circle while keeping his eyes locked on the swirling ball above his shoulder. Maintaining remarkable balance and composure, the GT skipper stretched fully to his left and completed a sensational diving catch just inches above the turf. The athletic effort instantly became one of the finest catches of IPL 2026.
As soon as he completed the catch, Gill celebrated passionately by putting his finger over his lips in a gesture directed towards the opposition dugout and fans. Mohammed Siraj immediately rushed in to hug his captain as Gujarat Titans players erupted in celebration.
Rashid Khan too appeared pumped up after dismissing the dangerous Dube, who had threatened to take the game away from GT with his explosive counterattack.
The wicket proved to be the defining turning point in the match. At the time of Dube’s dismissal, Chennai Super Kings had reached 116/6 in just 10.3 overs but still needed 114 more runs. While Dube looked capable of producing something special, Gill’s brilliance in the field crushed CSK’s hopes instantly.
