Australia Make Double Change for Perth ODI; Adam Zampa and Josh Inglis Unavailable

Adam Zampa and Josh Inglis have been ruled out of Australia’s first ODI against India in Perth, with Matt Kuhnemann and Josh Philippe named as replacements.

Australia suffered a double setback ahead of the first ODI against India in Perth on October 19, with Adam Zampa and Josh Inglis ruled out. Left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann and wicketkeeper Josh Philippe have been added to the squad as replacements.

Zampa opted out to stay with his family in northern New South Wales, with his wife expecting their second child soon. Inglis continues to recover from a calf strain and will also miss the second ODI in Adelaide on October 23, where Alex Carey is set to return.

Australia will hope Inglis will regain fitness in time for the third ODI in Sydney on October 25. Zampa is expected to rejoin the team for the remaining matches, including the five-match T20I series on the East Coast.

Meanwhile, Matthew Kuhnemann is set to play his first ODI on home soil and his first in three years when Australia face India in Perth on Sunday. The left-arm spinner last featured in the 2022 Sri Lanka series. He has been a regular squad member across formats, travelling for the World Test Championship final, the Caribbean tour, home games against South Africa, and the T20I series in New Zealand.
