Australia spinner Adam Zampa will miss the opening games of the five-match T20I series against India as he awaits the birth of his second child. Leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha has been drafted in as his replacement. Zampa, Australia’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is, recently missed the first ODI against India but returned for the remaining two matches in the 2-1 series win.
Sangha, who last played a T20I in December 2023 against India, made an impressive debut with figures of 4/31 against South Africa. In seven T20Is so far, he has taken 10 wickets at an economy rate of 8.89.
Notably, Australia have also made several other squad adjustments ahead of the five-match T20I series against India, with the Ashes 2025-26 approaching. Mitchell Marsh will lead the side, while Glenn Maxwell returns for the final three games after recovering from a wrist injury.
