Afghanistan defeated Canada by 82 runs after restricting them to 118/8, with Ibrahim Zadran and Mohammad Nabi leading a strong finish to their campaign.
Canada won the toss and chose to field against Afghanistan. Rahmanullah Gurbaz(30) and Ibrahim Zadran provided a strong opening stand before Canada struck twice, removing Gurbaz and Gulbadin Naib in quick succession. Despite the setbacks, Zadran continued to score freely.
Sediqullah Atal(44) joined him and added valuable runs to rebuild momentum. The pair pushed Afghanistan toward a commanding total before Atal fell in the 16th over. Zadran remained composed at the crease and accelerated in the closing overs. He finished unbeaten on 95, guiding Afghanistan to 200 in their 20 overs and giving the bowlers a strong total to defend.

Afghanistan struck early in Canada’s chase and maintained constant pressure with disciplined bowling. Canada’s batting unit struggled to build partnerships as wickets fell at regular intervals. Mohammad Nabi delivered an excellent spell, claiming career-best figures of 4/7 in his 4 overs.
Canada finished on 118/8, well short of the target. Afghanistan secured a big 82-run win to close their T20 World Cup.
