Afghanistan to Host West Indies for T20I Series in UAE Before WC

The Afghanistan Cricket Board scheduled a three-match T20I series against the West Indies in the UAE for January.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) will host the West Indies for a three-match T20I series. The matches will be played in the United Arab Emirates from January 19 to 22.

The series will provide crucial game time for both teams. It serves as key preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to begin about a month after this series.

Naseeb Khan, CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, said, “Competing against the West Indies on the brink of a global event presents an excellent opportunity for our team to finalize their lineup and enhance their preparations for the upcoming mega event in India and Sri Lanka. We have been closely monitoring the team’s preparation process, and facing a quality West Indies side offers an ideal platform for their buildup.”
