KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was stretchered off and hospitalised after suffering a serious on-field injury during the Vijay Hazare Trophy clash in Jaipur.
Mumbai’s promising young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi suffered a major injury scare during the Vijay Hazare Trophy clash between Mumbai and Uttarakhand at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The incident occurred while the right-hander attempted a difficult catch in the field, resulting in a heavy fall that left him clutching his shoulder and head. The severity of the impact immediately raised concerns among players and support staff, with the match momentarily halted as medical personnel rushed to his aid.
Multiple reports later confirmed that Raghuvanshi was stretchered off the field and taken straight to SDMH Hospital in Jaipur for precautionary CT scans. The scenes were distressing as the young batter appeared to be in visible pain before being moved off the ground.
Raghuvanshi Undergoing Medical Assistance
He is currently undergoing medical assessment, and early indications suggest the injury could be serious, potentially ruling him out for an extended period and causing anxiety within the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) camp ahead of IPL 2026.
The injury comes at a particularly worrying time for KKR, who are in the middle of rebuilding after a disappointing IPL 2025 campaign. The three-time champions finished eighth on the points table, with Raghuvanshi emerging as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise underwhelming season. The 20-year-old scored 300 runs in 11 innings at an average of 33.33, showcasing maturity and consistency beyond his years.

Recognising his importance, KKR retained Raghuvanshi while releasing several senior players ahead of IPL 2026, earmarking him as a key figure for the future.
He was expected to either open the batting or anchor the middle order in the upcoming season. However, if the injury sidelines him for a prolonged period or forces him to miss matches, it could significantly derail KKR’s plans as they look to bounce back strongly in the next IPL cycle.
