“Arshdeep Singh Is Venomous”: Adam Gilchrist Predicts Danger Ahead Of Australia T20Is

India avoided a whitewash with a nine-wicket win over Australia in the third ODI before attention turned to the upcoming T20I series.

India managed to salvage a nine-wicket win over hosts Australia in the third one-day international at the Sydney Cricket Ground, avoiding a series whitewash. With the ODI leg wrapped up, all eyes now turn to the five-match T20I series, which begins on October 29.

Ahead of the series in the shortest format, Australian legend Adam Gilchrist was asked about one Indian player the Aussies should fear and his prediction for the series outcome.

Gilchrist Names Arshdeep As Threat

While many might have expected Gilchrist to name Abhishek Sharma, the former wicketkeeper instead chose left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh.

“I think Arshdeep Singh, he’s quite venomous with the ball at the top of the innings and at the end of the innings. I think he is India’s leading wicket-taker in the T20 format in International cricket. So, I think he’s someone who the Aussies need to be mindful of,” Gilchrist said.

Arshdeep Singh did not feature in the third ODI, but in the first two matches, which India lost, he took three wickets at an average of 24.

Abhishek, on the other hand, has been in sensational form. The opener was named ICC Player of the Month for September following his brilliant run in the Asia Cup. He scored 314 runs in seven matches, averaging 44.85 and striking at 200. His aggressive batting played a key role in India’s title triumph, earning him the Asia Cup Player of the Tournament award.

When asked for his series prediction, Gilchrist said, “Let’s go 3-2,” though he did not specify which team he believed would come out on top.
