BPL 2025-26 | BCB Integrity Unit Probes Noakhali Express Official For Doubtful Credentials

BPL Franchise’s Head Coach Walks Out Of Training Amid Management Dispute

The Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed an investigation into a team management member’s credentials.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president, Aminul Islam, stated on Wednesday that a member of the Noakhali Express team management is under scrutiny. The BCB’s Integrity Unit is investigating assistant coach Niaz Khan after a report questioned his identity and credentials.

The report claimed Niaz worked with the Afghanistan national team during the Asia Cup. However, officials from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) denied any association with him when asked for verification. This prompted the BCB to launch a further investigation.

“They (BCB integrity Unit) is well aware about the development (regarding the news of Noakhali Express assistant coach) and working on it. It’s confidential so I cannot disclose much but they (BCB integrity Unit) is well aware about this (regarding the movement of Niaz),” said Aminul, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

BCB Strict On Rules And Regulations

Mahin M Rahman, counsel to the BCB’s Integrity Unit, confirmed the ongoing probe. “I got confirmation from my head (Alex Marshall) that this (movement of Niaz) is already under a live investigation. Yes, I know that (Niaz was with Dhaka Capitals) and there are some more connections here as well,” said Mahin.

The BCB’s official confirmation came hours after Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Governing Council member secretary Iftekhar Rahman emphasized a strict stance on integrity. He stated that authorities will not compromise on such issues.

“We take every issue very seriously. That is why we have put pressure on teams on two clear points as player payments must be made and that integrity must be maintained,” said Iftekhar.

“Because of that zero tolerance, you are seeing things like teams withdrawing even after being awarded a franchise. That has been painful for us. We have an independent committee headed by Alex Marshall and Instructions have gone from us to many teams that certain people cannot stay with,” he added.
