BCCI CoE Confirms Gill Fit as India Prepare for Five T20Is vs South Africa | Reports

Shubman Gill has been reportedly declared fully fit by the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence and is now available to play in the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.

Shubman Gill has received full fitness clearance from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, making him available for India’s five-match T20I series against South Africa. The opener completed his rehabilitation after a neck injury sustained last month and passed all Return To Play protocols.

The CoE informed the team’s Sports Science and Medicine unit, including physio Kamlesh Jain, conditioning coach Adrian Le Roux and team doctor Dr Charles, that Gill is fit for all formats. His selection had been subject to fitness, but he now joins the squad with no restrictions ahead of the series.

Shubman Gill’s neck injury, sustained while batting in the Kolkata Test, forced him out of the remainder of the match and the following Test in Guwahati. After a brief hospital stay, he met a specialist in Mumbai and began rehabilitation, missing India’s ODI series against South Africa.

Hardik Pandya Also Back After Quadricep Injury

Earlier this week, Gill earned a place in India’s squad for the five-match T20I series, with his inclusion dependent on fitness clearance from the CoE, which he has now reportedly received. The series starts on December 9 in Cuttack. Hardik Pandya also returns after a left quadricep injury and recently struck 77 against Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
