BCCI To Summon Riyan Parag Over Vaping Incident In IPL 2026 | Reports

BCCI will reportedly summon Riyan Parag after the vaping incident during IPL 2026 PBKS vs RR match.

An official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) has reportedly responded to the vapingincident involving Riyan Parag during IPL 2026. According to the source, the board plans to call the player and seek clarification before deciding further action.

The episode took place in Match 40 between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings on April 28 in New Chandigarh. Cameras captured Riyan Parag using a vaping device inside the dressing room during the 16th over.

The visuals quickly circulated online and inviting widespread reactions. Authorities noted that vaping remains prohibited under Indian law during such events. Parag sat in the dugout alongside Dhruv Jurel, Yudhvir Singh Charak and Kuldeep Sen at that time.

“We will be seeking an explanation from Riyan on this issue, as vaping is not allowed. Depending on his explanation, the IPL will take further course of action,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Notably, vaping remains illegal in India under existing regulations. First-time offenders face a fine of up to INR 1 lakh or imprisonment up to 1 year, or both. Repeat violations attract stricter penalties, including fines up to INR 5 lakh and jail terms up to 3 years. Authorities may treat this case as a first offence if proven.
