Chennai Super Kings(CSK) have signed Akash Madhwal to their squad for IPL 2026. The move comes after Ayush Mhatre suffered a season-ending injury.
Mhatre picked up a left hamstring injury during Match 27 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He had impressed earlier with 2 fifties in 6 matches.
Madhwal joins the team as a right-arm fast bowler. He has previously played for Mumbai Indians in 2023 and 2024, and Rajasthan Royals in 2025. He brings experience of 17 IPL matches with 23 wickets. His standout performance remains figures of 5 for 5 in an Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants.
