Chennai Super Kings (CSK) signed South African all-rounder Dian Forrester for INR 75 lakh after Jamie Overton suffered a season-ending injury.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) moved quickly to replace injured all-rounder Jamie Overton ahead of the final phase of IPL 2026 by signing South Africa’s Dian Forrester for INR 75 lakh. The franchise confirmed that Overton suffered a right thigh injury and will return to the United Kingdom for further medical assessment before CSK’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants on May 15 at the Ekana Stadium.
Forrester recently made his international debut for South Africa against New Zealand in March 2026. The all-rounder has already featured in 5 international matches and scored 83 runs.
CSK had also completed another squad change earlier this week after signing Karnataka youngster Macneil Noronha as the replacement for Ramakrishna Ghosh, who suffered a foot fracture after only 1 IPL appearance.
Meanwhile, Chennai remain firmly in the playoff race despite recent injury concerns. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s side currently sit fifth on the IPL 2026 points table with 12 points from 6 wins.

However, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s latest win has tightened the playoff battle further. CSK now likely need wins in all 3 remaining league matches to maximise their chances of reaching the playoffs.
