Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar survived a major scare during the ongoing IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders after Kartik Tyagi hit him on his helmet with a sharp 141 kph bouncer.
The incident took place in the 14th over of the RCB innings when Tyagi delivered a quick short ball aimed at the batter. Patidar reacted late while trying to move away from the delivery and lost sight of the ball before it crashed into the back of his helmet.

The blow immediately concerned players and support staff as RCB physios rushed onto the field for a mandatory concussion assessment. Play paused briefly while medical officials checked the skipper carefully.

Fortunately for Bengaluru, Patidar showed no visible discomfort during the examination and successfully cleared the concussion protocols. After receiving medical attention, the RCB captain resumed batting and continued his innings.
