The chase looked difficult early as DC slipped to 26/4 in the fifth over. KL Rahul fell for 0 off 1, dismissed by Mohammed Shami on his first ball back. Pathum Nissanka also departed cheaply for 1 off 5, while Axar Patel fell for 0 off 1. Sameer Rizvi anchored the innings with 53 off 41, supported by Tristan Stubbs’ 31 off 27. Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs rebuilt the innings with a crucial 119-run partnership.

Earlier, DC bowlers restricted LSG to 141. Lungi Ngidi took 3/27, while T Natarajan claimed 3/29. Kuldeep Yadav added 2 wickets. For LSG, Abdul Samad scored 36 off 25, and Mitchell Marsh made 35 off 28.
LSG pacers troubled DC initially, but the momentum shifted during the middle overs. Rizvi was strong against spin, as LSG spinners conceded 35 runs in 2.1 overs. All 5 matches in IPL 2026 so far have ended with successful chases.
