Delhi Police Crime Branch has intensified its probe into an alleged IPL ticket black-marketing racket after issuing notices to DDCA officials and arresting multiple accused outside Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has reportedly served notices to four officials of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) as part of its investigation into the alleged black marketing of IPL match tickets and premium passes.

The investigation gathered pace after four individuals were arrested outside the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi for allegedly selling match tickets and passes to several buyers, including people linked to betting operations being conducted from inside the venue.

According to reports, the accused were involved in the illegal sale of complimentary passes and high-priced premium tickets during IPL 2026 matches held at the stadium.

Complimentary Passes Allegedly Sold For Rs 20,000

As per a report by The Indian Express, the accused allegedly sold complimentary passes for as much as Rs 20,000 each while earning large profits through premium ticket sales. Investigators also suspect that a portion of the earnings was shared with certain DDCA officials.

“They allegedly procured tickets and complimentary passes through various persons. The role of others associated with this syndicate is also under investigation. They also supplied premium tickets at exorbitant prices to people involved in online live betting/satta operations inside stadiums, as well as to pickpockets and other criminal elements,” DCP (Crime Branch) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav was quoted as saying by the publication.

Police officials further revealed that the accused allegedly posed as “authorised representatives” of the DDCA administration and event management authorities in order to gain the trust of buyers.

During the course of the investigation, authorities reportedly discovered that the alleged ticket black-marketing network was not restricted only to IPL matches in Delhi.

“It has also come to notice that criminal cases related to ticket black marketing had previously been registered against them in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana,” Yadav said.

Another accused, identified as Pankaj Yadav, was arrested on Tuesday. Reports stated that he worked as a supervisor at a petrol pump located near the stadium in the national capital.
