Hardik Pandya is reportedly set to undergo a fitness test in Bengaluru to determine the extent of his left quadricep injury sustained during last month’s Asia Cup in the UAE. The allrounder was injured in India’s Super Four match against Sri Lanka, ruling him out of the final against Pakistan. With India scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20Is against Australia from November 19, Pandya remains unavailable. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been included in both squads as his replacement.
As per reports from The Times of India, Pandya will visit the BCCI Center of Excellence today for a detailed examination. His recovery plan will be finalized after the assessment. If surgery is not required, he could return to competitive cricket as early as next month.
Meanwhile, Team India will fly to Australia on Wednesday for their upcoming limited-overs series, beginning later this month. The spotlight will be on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who return to action after a long break. Both last featured in the ICC Champions Trophy final in March and have not played any competitive cricket since IPL 2025.
