The decision was jointly taken by the selectors and team management to carefully monitor Bumrah’s fitness ahead of a packed international calendar.

Bumrah, who returned to international cricket after a lengthy injury layoff, has been rotated cautiously over the last few months. The Indian management reportedly wants to avoid any recurrence of injury and ensure that the premier fast bowler remains fully fit for major assignments later in the year.

One major discussion ahead of the ODI squad announcement surrounded Rishabh Pant’s absence.
