The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, March 2, announced the official schedule for India’s upcoming multi-format series against Afghanistan. The Afghanistan men’s team will tour India in June 2026 for one Test and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

India, Afghanistan Set For Post-IPL Clash

India are currently competing in the T20 World Cup and have secured a place in the semi-finals. In contrast, Afghanistan endured a disappointing campaign, exiting in the group stage after losses to New Zealand and South Africa.

Following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, players from both teams will feature in IPL 2026. Once the IPL ends, Afghanistan will travel to India for the bilateral series.

The tour is expected to attract strong interest, with senior Indian stars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma still active in the 50-over format despite retiring from Tests and T20Is.
