
India were drawn against arch-rivals Pakistan in the group stage of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
India will face Pakistan in the 2026 T20 World Cup group stage at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium on February 15. The arch-rivals have been placed together in Group A alongside the USA, Namibia, and the Netherlands.
According to sources, India will begin their title defense against the USA in Ahmedabad on February 8. They then play Namibia in Delhi on February 12 before traveling to Colombo for the Pakistan clash.
India’s Potential Path in the Tournament
India’s final group match will be against the Netherlands at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on February 18. The tournament schedule indicates Mumbai will host one semifinal on March 7, while Colombo stages the other on March 4.
The final will be played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on March 8. This marks the 10th edition of the T20 World Cup since its inception in 2007.
India enters the tournament as defending champions, having won the 2024 edition in the Caribbean under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. The team has maintained strong T20 form recently, winning the Asia Cup in September and a T20I series in Australia last month.
India’s next T20 assignment is a five-match home series against South Africa in December. Pakistan is currently competing in a T20I tri-series at home against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
