In the IPL 2026 mini-auction in Abu Dhabi, a total of 369 players are available for just 77 slots. The absence of Right to Match cards adds further complexity to strategies.

Purse sizes vary sharply across franchises. Kolkata Knight Riders lead the table with INR 64.30 crore and 13 slots to fill. Chennai Super Kings follow with INR 43.40 crore and nine vacancies. Mumbai Indians sit at the other extreme, holding only INR 2.75 crore and entering the auction with an almost settled squad.

Australian batterJake Fraser-McGurk was the opening name, carrying a base price of Rs 2 crore. Despite expectations of strong interest, no franchise placed a bid, leaving him unsold.

David Miller, one of the most experienced middle-order batters in the pool, was next. Delhi Capitals secured him at his base price of Rs 2 crore. India batter Prithvi Shaw followed, entering the auction with a base price of Rs 75 lakh. However, teams showed no interest, and Shaw also went unsold.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals soon drove the price upward before Chennai Super Kings briefly entered the race. Rajasthan Royals exited at Rs 13.40 crore. Kolkata Knight Riders eventually secured Green for Rs 25.20 crore, completing one of the biggest deals of the auction.

In contrast, India batter Sarfaraz Khan failed to attract any bids in his round and remained unsold.
