The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the IPL 2026 playoff schedule on May 6, confirming Ahmedabad as the venue for the final on May 31.
Qualifier 1 will take place on May 26 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, where the top 2 teams will battle for a direct spot in the title clash. The tournament will then move to the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh for the Eliminator on May 27 and Qualifier 2 on May 29.

The winner of Qualifier 1 will advance directly to the final, while the loser will face the Eliminator winner for the remaining berth.

BCCI also confirmed that Bengaluru had originally received hosting rights for the final. However, operational and logistical issues, along with requirements from local authorities, forced the board to shift the marquee game to Ahmedabad.
IPL 2026 Qualification Scenarios
As of May 6, the Punjab Kings lead the standings on 13 points from 9 matches. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans follow closely with 12 points each.
