IPL 2026 | RCB Humiliate DC After Powerplay Collapse, Win With 81 Balls Remaining

IPL 2026 |

Delhi Capitals suffered a dramatic batting collapse to 75 as Royal Challengers Bengaluru cruised to a dominant 9-wicket win in just 6.3 overs in an IPL match.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a commanding performance to crush Delhi Capitals by nine wickets in the 39th match of IPL 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 27, chasing down a paltry target of 76 in just 6.3 overs with 81 balls to spare.

The match was defined by a dramatic batting collapse from Delhi Capitals, who were bundled out for just 75 in 16.3 overs. The top order failed miserably, with Sahil Parakh (0), KL Rahul (1), Nitish Rana (1), and Sameer Rizvi (0) falling cheaply inside the first two overs. By the end of the powerplay, DC were reeling at 8/6, marking the lowest powerplay scores in IPL history.

Bhuvneshwar-Hazlewood Duo Deals Maximum Damage

The damage was inflicted primarily by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, who dismantled the batting lineup with clinical precision. Bhuvneshwar returned figures of 3/5 in three overs, while Hazlewood was exceptional with 4/12 in 3.3 overs. Suyash Sharma (1/7) and Krunal Pandya (1/9) chipped in effectively to keep the pressure intact.

Amid the collapse, Abishek Porel stood tall with a fighting 30 off 33 balls, while David Miller contributed 19 runs. However, the lack of support from the rest of the lineup meant DC could never recover from the early blows.

RCB Make Light Work Of Chase

In response, RCB made light work of the chase. Jacob Bethell provided a quick start with a brisk 20 off 11 balls before falling to Kyle Jamieson.

Thereafter, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal ensured there were no further hiccups. Kohli remained unbeaten on 23 off 15 balls, while Padikkal was the standout performer with a blazing 34* off just 13 deliveries, striking at over 260.

Delhi’s bowlers had little to defend, with Jamieson picking up the only wicket but conceding 42 runs in his three overs. The rest of the attack failed to make any impact as RCB sealed a dominant win.
