Gujarat Titans chased down 156 comfortably with 25 balls to spare, sealing a four-wicket win over RCB in Ahmedabad IPL match.

The Gujarat Titans registered a convincing four-wicket victory over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 42 of IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, chasing down a target of 156 with 25 balls to spare. GT finished at 158/6 in 15.5 overs in what turned out to be a clinical run chase.

Earlier in the evening, RCB posted a total of 155 after being bowled out in 19.2 overs. The innings began with some early promise, as Virat Kohli played an aggressive knock of 28 off just 13 balls, striking five fours and a six at a remarkable strike rate of 215.38. However, his early dismissal triggered a collapse.

Devdutt Padikkal stood out with a composed 40 off 24 deliveries, anchoring the innings briefly. Rajat Patidar added 19, while Romario Shepherd chipped in with 17. However, the middle and lower order failed to build momentum, with wickets falling at regular intervals. RCB eventually lost all their wickets for 155, struggling to capitalize on their early start.

In reply, GT got off to a brisk start despite losing Sai Sudharsan early for 6. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a blistering 43 off 18 balls, smashing four boundaries and three sixes. Jos Buttler complemented him well with a quickfire 39 off 19 deliveries, keeping the required rate well under control.

Although GT lost a few wickets in the middle phase, Rahul Tewatia ensured there were no late hiccups. Remaining unbeaten on 27 off 17 balls, he guided the chase calmly alongside Rashid Khan, who contributed 7*.

For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the standout bowler with figures of 3/28 in his four overs. Romario Shepherd also picked up two wickets, but the rest of the bowling unit struggled to contain the flow of runs.
