Overton played an important role for CSK this season with his pace regularly crossing 150kph. He also claimed 10 key wickets during the middle overs phase of matches.

Jamie Overton emerged as one of Chennai Super Kings’ most valuable performers during IPL 2026 after delivering impactful displays with both bat and ball. CSK retained the England all-rounder for INR 1.50 crore following his promising 2025 season, and he repaid that faith with consistent performances.

Overton picked up 14 wickets in 10 matches, including brilliant figures of 4/18, while also scoring 136 runs at a strike rate above 158. Chennai frequently used him as a middle-overs enforcer because of his pace and aggressive hard-length bowling.

The 31-year-old also played a crucial role during CSK’s mid-season revival. One of his standout performances came against Lucknow Super Giants, where he registered match-winning figures of 3/36 to stop a dangerous scoring match.
