Jasprit Bumrah’s stump-mic comment to Temba Bavuma during the Kolkata Test has gone viral and evoking widespread online reactions.
Jasprit Bumrah delivered a strong opening spell for India on the first morning of the ongoing Test against South Africa at Eden Gardens. He removed Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram within the first 13 overs. Rickelton lost his stumps to a sharp delivery, while Markram edged to Rishabh Pant off the first ball of Bumrah’s 13th over.
Later in the same over, Bumrah struck Temba Bavuma on the pads and made a LBW appeal, which the umpire turned down. As India discussed a possible review, the stump mic captured Bumrah directing a derogatory remark about Bavuma.
The video surfaced online within minutes and quickly went viral. In it, Bumrah can be heard saying, “Bauna bhi hai b*******.”

Meanwhile, India’s opening Test against South Africa began with Shubman Gill losing another toss, allowing Temba Bavuma’s side to choose batting on the first morning in Kolkata. The match also marks Rishabh Pant’s return to the XI.

Jasprit Bumrah quickly build momentum for India by removing Ryan Rickelton for 23 and dismissing Aiden Markram soon after, producing two crucial wickets inside the first 13 overs. At the time of writing, South Africa have reached 105 for 3 as India pushes to tighten control in the opening session.
