Kris Srikkanth backed Rohit Sharma to dominate KKR in IPL 2026 opener despite recent struggles, also raising concerns over Cameron Green’s form.
Kris Srikkanth has predicted a strong outing for Rohit Sharma ahead of IPL 2026. The Mumbai Indians will face the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29 at Wankhede Stadium. Srikkanth highlighted Rohit’s past success against KKR.
The opener has scored over 1000 runs against them. He also averages above 38 and scored a century in 2012. However, recent numbers show a dip in form. Rohit crossed 25 only once in his last 8 innings against KKR. His previous fifty against them came in 2020. Srikkanth still expects a turnaround in this match.
“KKR used to be a halwa for Rohit Sharma a few years back. He is going to smash their bowling like eating halwa tomorrow. KKR is his badam halwa team. Once KKR comes itself, Rohit is in a comfort zone,” Srikkanth said in a video on his YouTube channel.
Srikkanth also raised concerns about Cameron Green’s form. Green struggled during the recent T20 World Cup.
“There are already murmurs that he’ll only bowl two overs. That’s slacking off on full effort. It’s been an eternity since he has scored runs, also,” he said.
Kris Srikkanth then rated the Mumbai Indians as clear favourites. He gave MI a 75-25 advantage for the match. He also rated the team at 9.5 out of 10 in overall balance.

“MI should win for sure. I would say they hold a 75-25 edge. MI has every base covered and are a 9.5/10 team. KKR actually did a good job in the auction. Mustafizur was a good pick, and if he and Pathirana had been there, they would have had a good balance. Harshit Rana being unfit was a big hit for them,” Srikkanth said.
“If everyone were available, KKR had a good bowling side. They were actually one of the teams that did a very good job in the auction. But it’s been a complete turn of events after that,” he concluded.
