LSG secure a narrow five-wicket win over SRH, with Rishabh Pant’s composed knock sealing the chase.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) held their nerve to register a thrilling five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 10 of IPL 2026 in Hyderabad, chasing down 157 with one ball to spare.
After opting to bowl first, LSG produced a disciplined bowling performance to restrict SRH to 156/9. The hosts endured a disastrous start, losing early wickets as Mohammed Shami struck twice in the powerplay, dismissing Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head cheaply. Prince Yadav and Avesh Khan chipped in with two wickets each, further denting SRH’s progress.
At 26/4, SRH were in deep trouble before a remarkable counterattack from Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy revived the innings. The duo stitched together a crucial 116-run partnership, with Klaasen scoring 62 off 41 balls and Reddy adding a brisk 56 off 33 deliveries. Their effort helped SRH post a competitive total despite the early collapse.
LSG Steer Risky Chase Against SRH
In response, LSG got off to a solid start through Aiden Markram, who played an aggressive knock of 45 off 27 balls. However, SRH bowlers fought back in the middle overs, reducing LSG to 105/4 and putting the chase in a tricky position.
Captain Rishabh Pant then anchored the innings with a composed unbeaten 68 off 50 balls. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, Pant held his ground and kept the scoreboard ticking. Contributions from Abdul Samad and Ayush Badoni provided brief support, but the match went down to the final over.
